the tide pushes me further from the shore
towards the deep end of the ocean
my feet leave the bottom
reaching not finding
certainty swept away
grounding gone I float free
no anchors, the tide can decide
waves which have travelled from beyond the horizon
raise me onto their shoulders and lower me to their belly
a peak and a valley with each swell
the weight of the ocean could drown me
but I am filled with relative density
to stay above the weight of the ocean
to swim with or against the current
and the one who sends the waves
from beyond the horizon
